The girls and I were lucky to have been able to attend the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey game. It was the last home game of the playoff season. It was a pretty cool experience, however, it was very different from United States Ice Hockey.
Ice Hockey in N.Ireland is considered to be more of a "professional" sport. With that being said, there were not many fights, and if there were...they would be broken up immediately.
On the flip side, in the USA, the refs would let the players fight, and then eventually break the fight up. It was interesting to see the differences between professionalism within Ice Hockey.
Needless to say, I find that USA Hockey games are way more exciting and thrilling, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't go back to see another Giants game!
The Giants ended up losing 3-1, however, I am glad that we were able to experience the N.Ireland ice hockey spirit!
